Taneesa Says…

On May 9, 2006, a mutual friend, Margaret N., had a happy hour at Sharkeez in Manhattan Beach, CA. I was there enjoying the specials when Kelvin walked in.

After greeting everyone Kelvin immediately came over and we talked the whole night. Before leaving we exchanged business cards.

Although we played phone tag for several weeks, we kept bumping into one another all the time (bank, other gatherings, etc).

Kelvin invited me to his July 15th bday party, Margaret and I went to check it out. I had to leave early to make another engagement. So, I promised Kelvin I would come to his after party at the Savoy. Unable to make the after party, I called Kelvin to apologize that following Monday.

We stayed on the phone for hours, and from that day forth we talked on the phone everyday and the rest is history.

Kelvin Says…

Taneesa and I first met at Sharkeez, a cool hangout spot, after work one evening. She was a guest of my co-worker, Margaret N., and in true KBunn fashion – I had to meet her. Fast forward, we are at another Happy Hour, Sangria, this time in Hermosa Beach. I came to find out that Taneesa lived up the street – but, I was denied the right to walk her home (Shutdown!). This was after her cousin, Shante, told her to give me a chance. [Background: While at Sangria, Taneesa was on the phone with Shante and I asked to hold her phone. To plead my case.]

After playing phone tag for a few weeks, Taneesa and I ran into each other at a bank. I invited her out to Karaoke, she obliged, but – nothing really took off. Later that summer, July, Taneesa came to my Birthday pool party. Long story short, she drank the infamous punch (and ate the fruit). After giving me a lashing for not warning her about the punch, I think she started to realize I was a cool guy.

A few phone conversations later, here we are – getting married.

I always knew, any woman that could put up with me for over a year had to be Godsent. I’ve found MY good thing…
